Visit England Inspection

We have just had our first "secret shopper" stay by Quality in Tourism inspectors. We are delighted to have continued the rating by the previous owners.  An unusual feat which required a second overnight stay by a different inspector to confirm the grading, she stated “it is rare for an existing high rating to be upheld, your enthusiasm and commitment to quality is why you managed to retain the existing rating.”

The Old Town Hall is rated 5 Star with Gold and Breakfast Awards by Visit England, this requires key areas of the business to be of an equivalent quality and the standards of service and hospitality to be excellent.  We achieved 100% scores for:

• Cleanliness
• Hospitality and Friendliness
• Food Quality

Our Breakfast service also scored 100% and by achieving exceptionally high scores for the quality of our breakfast we qualified for the Visit England Breakfast Award.

As part of the annual assessment the assessor scored the breakfast served based on the following criteria:

• Choice and range of dishes offered
• Presentation and culinary skills
• Quality of ingredients/produce
• Breakfast service/hospitality
